Our story
We started Sated because we were tired of the rush.
Sated began at a kitchen table in Lisbon in early 2023. Two of us, a slightly burnt loaf of sourdough, and a long, half-serious conversation about what travel writing and food writing had become — full of affiliate links and twelve-step listicles, written for an algorithm instead of a person.
We wanted to make the opposite of that. One story a week. No SEO games, no sponsored content disguised as editorial, no headlines designed to enrage you. Just a recipe worth keeping or a place worth flying to, written by someone who actually went there or actually cooked it.
Today we are a team of six writers, photographers, and one very patient editor, publishing from Lisbon, Tokyo, New York, Berlin, Mexico City, and wherever the next assignment takes us. We hope you'll read along.
